MBA Entrepreneurship

This programme provides students with the opportunity to develop an academic understanding of the current debates in the field of entrepreneurship.  This will include the review, development and reflection of a range of high level entrepreneurial capabilities and competences that are relevant in both entrepreneurial and entrepreneurial situations, in all types of organization contexts.

This MBA is aimed at students who might want to apply entrepreneurial approaches in both profit and not for profit organisations, in small or large organisations, and at global or local levels. Students might also be planning to own their own entrepreneurial venture at some stage in their career.

Students will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to conduct advanced research into a variety of entrepreneurial issues whilst focusing on the role and impact of entrepreneurship.   

The MBA Entrepreneurship programme will equip students with general business management knowledge as well as specialist Entrepreneurship skills to enable them to excel in their chosen field.

Modules are assessed by coursework. This may take various forms, work-based projects, small research projects, presentations, case study analysis and the final research project/dissertation. Students who are not currently in employment may be able to base their projects on case studies.

Normally, the possession of a minimum of a 2:2 UK first degree or an equivalent international qualification recognised by UK NARIC or work experience of five years at a senior managerial level in lieu of first degree.

English language proficiency at or exceeding an average IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent in any other approved test), with no score less than 5.5 in any components of the test.

Normally work experience of two years or more at a managerial or supervisory level is expected.

Scholarship

£500 (reduction of the first year fees) for applicants with 70% or above marks in the qualifying award.

Early bird offer

10 bursaries of £500 each per intake are available to applicants who have submitted complete applications and who have been issued with an unconditional offer letter at least two months before the registration week for their chosen programme. the £500 reduction only applies to the first year’s fee.

Past students have enhanced their career advancement in the private, public and voluntary/not for profit sectors in the UK and overseas.

Full time students also participate in a programme of organisational visits, workshops and CPD events (in liaison with the Chartered Management Institute) to provide application and networking opportunities, and are supported in finding appropriate work experience opportunities and in planning and progressing their careers after graduation. 

The content of the programme is vocationally focused, using real case studies of current organisations. Students are encouraged to share their own work experience and apply their knowledge and skills in creative and innovative ways.
